Proof of well advanced language skills
telc Deutsch C1 is an internationally accredited telc exam for learners of German who want to obtain a general certificate documenting their well advanced German skills (level C1About proficiency levels:

). It is, for example, designed for professionals who need a proof of their language skills.
Attention: The exam is not suitable for university applicants who need a proof of sufficient language skills in order to study in Germany (in this case we recommend telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule or an equivalent exam).
We recommend sitting the exam after 800 – 1,000 hours of German language instruction. Our intensive German courses or the basic course module C1 of our job-related German language training courses can help learners to prepare for this exam.

Exam format and grading
The telc Deutsch C1 exam consists of a written section and an oral section. The written section is 3 hours and 40 minutes in duration (including a 20 minute break) and contains reading, listening comprehension and written expression tasks. The oral exam is about 16 minutes long (after a preparation phase of 20 minutes) and will take place either on the same day as the written exam or on a separate day.
A sample exam offered by telc gives examinees a more detailed impression.
When a minimum of 60% of the possible maximum number of points in both the written and oral sections are achieved, the exam is deemed passed.
The exam is corrected by telc within 4–6 weeks. We will inform you as soon as the results are ready to be picked up at our office.
